An adult has thirty-two adult teeth while a baby has twenty baby teeth. Teeth are important in the human body. The main role of teeth is to chew food making it easier to be swallowed. Unborn children already have teeth. Gum in the human mouth covers teeth in babies. Three to six months after birth, milk teeth start cutting through the gum and appearing. The first milk teeth to appear are incisors. Pronunciation and chewing is made easier when milk teeth appear in a baby’s mouth. Adult teeth are formed after the milk teeth fall out. The number of adult teeth is thirty-two.

Human teeth are covered with bacteria so cleaning them is necessary. Bacteria in the mouth are not all bad, some of them are good. Availability of some bacteria in the mouth aid in food digestion. Closure of the mouth most of the times aids in the growth of bacteria in the mouth. Saliva in the mouth avails some of the bacteria. Brushing the teeth and the spaces between them are important as it aids in the removal of bacteria in the teeth. Toothbrush among other things was and are used to clean teeth.

Tooth enamel protects against tender teeth. Tooth enamel is found on the outside of the tooth and it is very hard. A lot of strength is found in a tooth enamel enabling it to protect the tooth. Inside tooth parts are very soft and cannot withstand many things. The soft tissues are very important so the enamel protects them.
